In the context of ensuring equal access to education for all members of the university’s community, we would like to inform you about the operation of the Accessibility Unit for persons with Disabilities and persons with Special Educational Needs, at the International Hellenic University, in the framework of the project “Support of equal access interventions for people with disabilities and other special educational needs at the International Hellenic University (IHU)”, MIS 6017332 (CC 81939), which is co-financed by the Region of Central Macedonia and the European Union.
The Unit supports students with disabilities and students with Special Educational Needs by providing services and reasonable adjustments that contribute to their smooth participation in academic life.
Indicatively, the Accessibility Unit offers:
- Adaptations in examination and teaching methods
- Counselling and psychological support
- Accessibility support for printed and digital material
- Transportation and Escort of students with Disabilities
- Collaboration with academic and administrative staff to better meet the needs of students
